Luke's gospel guides us through a day in the life of Jesus at Capernaum, where we find the people amazed at the authority of His preaching and teaching and the authority by which He delivers from darkness and illness. But what's even more amazing is Jesus' compassion for those who are afflicted, showing us that Jesus can address our afflictions, because He has amazing authority and compassion for this task.
